Siruvapuri Murugan Temple - Periyapalayam

History

According to the legend, Lord Rama's sons have lived there. Lava and Kusa waged war against him when Lord Rama passed through this place. Then, they do not know that Lord Rama is their father, so they fight with him in this place.

Siruvapuri is a place located about 40 km away from Chennai. It is present on the Chennai-Kolkata highway. The distance of the temple from the temple is about 3 km from the road. People from all over India come to visit this temple. This temple is one of the famous Murugan temples in India.

This temple is a Prarthana Sthalam (worship place) for the afflictions of 6th house in a horoscope. Garudan here has 16 types of snakes around and hence the devotees are freed of Naga Dosham.
