The Inscription In Jayamkondacholamandalam Describes That Near River Koovam Which Is A Part Of Jayamkondachola Mandalam. There Is A Village Called Narasanayakapuram In The Western Side Of The River. It Is Named As The Avatara Of Lord. And Worshipped Lord PurandaranarasimhaPerumal AsMulavar. Later This Narasanayakapuram Has Been Called As Narasingapuram..The Speciality Is That The Mulavar Is 7.5 Feet Height And 16 Serpants Coil Round The Lord..

This temple is a Prarthana Sthalam (worship place) for the afflictions of 6th house in a horoscope. Garudan here has 16 types of snakes around and hence the devotees are freed of Naga Dosham.
