History :

Kallidaikurichi Murugan Temple is located in Kallidaikurichi in Thirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. The stone Nataraja Vigraha is special one comparing to the metal ones normally found in most other temples. Though the temple is called ‘Murugar Koil’ the main deity here is Lord Ganesha, because we can find near the Kodimaram the Vahana of Ganesha ‘Mouse’ and not that of Lord Muruga, which is Peacock. The elder brother, gracefully given importance of the temple to his younger brother, whose sannidhi is found separately in the prakaram.

LocationKallidaikurichi is located on the Southern bank of the river Thamirabarani at about 12 Kms West of Cheranmahadevi, 8 Kms from Veeravanallur, 4 Kms from Ambasamudram, 43 kms from Thirunelveli, 210 Kms from Madurai and 147 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram. The temple is located very close to the bus stop. Nearest Railway Station is located at Ambasamudram.

Temple Timing:  7.30 am to 9am, 6pm to 8pm.
